CATTLE

A hardy breed of long-haired cattle, Scottish Highland cattle thrive well in colder climates.  Cow's milk is high in butterfat.  Considered the highest quality of beef, Scottish Highland beef is lower in cholesterol than other varieties and gaining mainstream acceptance as “healthy” beef. We proudly belong to the NE Highland Cattle Association.

GOATS

We raise both Boer and Nubian goats were originally developed in South Africa in the early 1900s and later New Zealand. A sturdy breed known for high resistance to disease, they are docile, and fast growing.  Like Nubian goats, Boers feature long pendulous ears. Does are known for their superior mothering skills and multiple births are common.  Boers are also raised specifically as show goats and make very good pets.

SHEEP

Southdown and Southdown Baby Dolls are primary breed. We also raise some Welch Mountain Sheep originally come from the high mountains of Wales.  Small and shaggy, they are suited to harsh environments.  Along with their hardiness, other attributes of the breed include mothering quality, lamb survival, milking ability, tasty meat, and attractive wool.

POULTRY

We raise chicken, turkey, duck, quail and game hens.
